The 8th March 2026 is International Women’s Day. The Simunye Women Workers Forum (SWWF) is celebrating this international day by focusing on the fight against gender-based violence (GBV).
In the country today working-class women suffer violence daily. The violence against women comes in different forms – domestic violence, physical violence, cultural violence, psychological violence, economic violence. And the two main perpetrators of violence against women are men and capitalism. Male violence and capitalist violence against women are linked together and re-enforce each other.
